Right. Just to reinforce the obvious, the three most important dates to remember in the Judeo-Christian calendar right now are June 14, July 17 and September 24 â\u20ac\u201d the dates for the Polaris Music Prize Long and Short List announcements, and Polaris Gala, respectively.<\/p>\n

Just think, we’re only a few months away from adding some new names into that super-exclusive Skull And Bones-like secret society known as the Polaris People.<\/p>\n

Some of those Polaris People were ruling the world in their own special way again this week. Here’s what they were up to:<\/p>\n

Not to get all Star Magazine off the top, but if 2008 Short List nominee Kathleen Edwards’ <\/strong>cravings<\/a> are any indication, she’s totally over the moon.<\/p>\n

Apparently 2010 Short Lister Dan Mangan<\/strong> has been getting compared to \u00ab\u00a0Drillbit Taylor\u00a0\u00bb writer Seth Rogan a lot. He also explains why he has a beard<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And staying on the topic of Kathleen Edwards and Dan Mangan, but raising them with a double-Short List nominee named K’naan<\/strong>, all three of them (and a bunch of others) will be taking part in various Luminato 2012 art stuff thing type activities<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Tegan And Sara<\/strong>, they of the 2010 Short List nomination for \u00ab\u00a0Sainthood,\u00a0\u00bb recently went out of their way<\/a> to cure Mamma Yamma of her alligator herpetophopia.<\/p>\n

This one’s a little too technological for those of us who still use pencils, but 2009 Short Listers Great Lake Swimmers<\/strong> are not only releasing a proper album soon, but they’ve also supplied exclusive instrumental tracks<\/a> to \u00ab\u00a0One In A Thousand,\u00a0\u00bb which is, according <\/a>to the McLelland Group, \u00ab\u00a0the groundbreaking e-book by award-winning photographer Ian Coristine.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n
