We’re deep in Canadian Music Week over here in Polarisland. That hasn’t stopped some of our juror-type friends from thinking ahead, however. <\/p>\n

Never one to shy from a good debate, CBC Music personality and frequent Polaris host Grant Lawrence<\/strong> has already started soliciting jurors<\/a> in the lead-up to the June 14 Polaris Long List announcement.<\/p>\n

If that article’s any indication, there’s going to be a lot more Dan Mangan and Rich Aucoin in future Polaris People columns.<\/p>\n

But not this week. <\/p>\n

No, we’ve got other artists to talk about. Namely Arcade Fire, Cadence Weapon, The Sadies and Tegan And Sara.<\/p>\n

So yeah, last year’s Polaris champs Arcade Fire<\/strong> have been busy. They’ve been talking about \u00ab\u00a0The Hunger Games\u00a0\u00bb <\/a>(go Katniss!), joining Bruce Springsteen on stage<\/a> at SXSW, and talking about music and philanthropy<\/a> at the University of Texas.<\/p>\n

2007 champ Patrick Watson<\/strong> and his band, also titled Patrick Watson, have been busy, too. First, Esquire thought so much of them it gave them SXSW best band honours<\/a>.
