It&rsquo;s all terribly exciting.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, let&rsquo;s see what some of our favourite people, the Polaris People, have been up to.<\/p>\n<p>Our special friends and broadcast partners at AUX TV talked to current Short Listers<strong> A Tribe Called Red <\/strong>about their symbiotic connection to the Idle No More movement. You can see the video of that here:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vmBm0goCyC0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Over at Quick Before It Melts they spent some time contemplating fellow current Short Lister <em>Metric<\/em>&lsquo;s <em>Synthetica<\/em> album. \u00ab\u00a0A glimmer of optimism <a href = 'https:\/\/www.quickbeforeitmelts.com\/2013\/08\/metric-synthetica\/'>still remains<\/a>.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Sara Quin, one-half of current Short List twin-pack<strong> Tegan And Sara <\/strong>recently discussed the joys of purchasing <a href = 'https:\/\/www.dose.ca\/2013\/08\/07\/10-minutes-sara-quin-tegan-and-sara-osheaga-2013-which-we-talk-inspiration-montreal-and-shoes'>lime green suede designer sneakers<\/a>. Her and her sister also teamed up with Macklemore &amp; Ryan Lewis at Osheaga.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UPHG5n-DBBw\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>And our soon-to-be-friends from the just-launched Toronto radio station Indie 88 spoke to 2013 Short Listers <strong>Young Galaxy<\/strong>. You can find out the origin of the band&rsquo;s name <a href = 'https:\/\/indie88.com\/interview-young-galaxy\/'>here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In new album news, 2012 Short Listers <strong>Yamantaka \/\/ Sonic Titan<\/strong> have<a href = 'https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/news\/51828-yamantaka-sonic-titan-announce-new-album-uzu-share-one\/'> announced<\/a> plans for their new album<em> Uzu<\/em>. It&rsquo;ll be out on October 29.<\/p>\n<p>You can&rsquo;t buy former Polaris champ <strong>Owen Pallett<\/strong>&lsquo;s<em> In Conflict <\/em>album yet and there&rsquo;s someone to blame for that&#8230; Arcade Fire. <a href = 'https:\/\/www.theskinny.co.uk\/music\/features\/305302-under_wraps_owen_pallett_spills_secrets'>Find out why<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, <strong>Wolf Parade\/Handsome Furs\/Divine Fits<\/strong> member Dan Boeckner is planning to release something new as Operators. Apparently it&rsquo;ll be <a href = 'https:\/\/exclaim.ca\/News\/dan_boeckner_talks_debut_album_from_his_new_operators_project'>punky<\/a> and recall Unwound, Fugazi and Sonic Youth.<\/p>\n<p>Murray Lightburn of <strong>The Dears<\/strong> continues to press on with his forthcoming solo project Mass:Light, which comes out August 20.
