Artist Bio

Candice B & The Light Meter is the indie-folk project of Edmonton-based singer-songwriter Candice Bartlett. Blending warm acoustic textures, layered vocal harmonies, and immersive arrangements, the project creates a soundscape that feels both intimate and expansive — exploring themes of nature, connection, resilience, and finding moments of light through life’s transitions in an ever-changing world.

The debut EP, Golden Hour, was released in June 2026 and quickly gained momentum, debuting at #9 on the CKUA Top 30 Chart and earning a feature on Exclaim!’s The Eh! List, highlighting the best new Canadian music. The project has also received exposure through CBC’s Provincial Playlist with Tara McCarthy, as well as airplay on CBC and campus/community radio stations across Canada.

As the founder and director of Edmonton’s indie choir The Vox Collective, Candice’s passion for collective voice and community shapes the project’s approach to harmony, storytelling, and human connection. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Fruit Bats, Rickie Lee Jones, and Bon Iver, Candice B & The Light Meter balances thoughtful lyricism with rich sonic detail.

Candice B & The Light Meter celebrated the release of Golden Hour at The Aviary in Edmonton, Alberta, bringing the project’s themes of connection and community to the stage. Standout tracks include “Golden Hour,” “Rise,” and “No Problem.”
