Welcome to the Polaris Music Submission Portal
The Polaris Music Submission Portal allows artists and their representatives to submit eligible albums and songs for consideration for the Polaris Album Prize and the SOCAN Polaris Song Prize. Both honours are judged solely on artistic merit, without regard to genre, sales, or commercial popularity. The portal is currently open for the #Polaris2026 season.

What happens to submitted music?
Submitting music to the Polaris Portal does not mean it has been nominated. It does mean members of the Polaris jury will have the opportunity to evaluate it fairly. If a juror believes a submitted album or song has exceptional artistic merit, it may advance to the “Recommendation” phase and be included on the relevant #Polaris2026 Album or Song ballot. Artists whose music reaches the Recommendation and/or Nomination phase may be contacted by Polaris for additional materials.
How the Submission Portal works
To submit music, users will be guided through a simple four-step process: creating a profile, entering artist information, entering album or song information, and providing contact details. For a cheatsheet listing the information required in the Submission Portal, go HERE.
Eligibility requirements
For the #Polaris2026 season, eligible albums and songs must have been released between April 1, 2025 and May 1, 2026. Albums must be at least 50% Canadian, and songs must be 50% Canadian performed and 50% Canadian song-written. Albums must be at least 20 minutes long or contain a minimum of five songs. Songs must be 19 minutes, 59 seconds or shorter. Further details about Rules & Regulations can be found HERE.
Submitting through the Polaris Music Submission Portal is free. Polaris recommends submitting early in the cycle so jurors have adequate time to evaluate the work.
