2018 Polaris Short List Posters Revealed, Go On Sale September 17
The Polaris Music Prize presented by CBC Music today announced the 10 posters artists for the 2018 Short List.
The 2018 Short List Poster Artists:
Aaron Rinas: Alvvays – Antisocialites
Mathieu Larone: Jean-Michel Blais – Dans ma main
Matthew Boyd & Clea Forkert: Daniel Caesar – Freudian
Alëna Skarina: Jeremy Dutcher – Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa
Kellen Hatanaka: Pierre Kwenders – MAKANDA at the End of Space, the Beginning of Time
Cécile Gariépy: Hubert Lenoir – Darlène
Brandon Celi: Partner – In Search Of Lost Time
Dylan Darwin: Snotty Nose Rez Kids – The Average Savage
Mariel Rutherford: U.S. Girls – In A Poem Unlimited
Chris Pecora: Weaves – Wide Open
These specially curated posters are limited edition silk-screen pieces custom made to represent each album nominated for the 2018 Short List (see large versions of the posters below). The posters artists were selected from artist applications by Polaris and the Office of Gilbert Li and the posters were printed by Kid Icarus in Toronto.
The 2018 Polaris Short List posters will be available for online purchase on Monday, September 17. A limited amount will also be available for purchase that same night at the Polaris Gala, taking place at The Carlu in Toronto. Cost for these limited edition posters will be $40 + HST.
Confirmed performers at the Polaris Gala include Jean-Michel Blais, Jeremy Dutcher, Hubert Lenoir, Pierre Kwenders, Partner, Snotty Nose Rez Kids, U.S. Girls and Weaves. The gala will stream live at CBCMusic.ca/polaris and on CBC Music’s Facebook and YouTube pages starting at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT) on September 17.
