CBCMusic.ca Announced As Title Sponsor Of The 2015 Polaris Music Gala

CBCMusic.ca is the title sponsor of the 2015 Polaris Gala

The Polaris Music Prize today announced that CBCMusic.ca will be the title sponsor of this year’s Gala, taking place September 21 at The Carlu in Toronto. Hosted by Fred Penner with backstage coverage by Laurie Brown (host of CBC Radio Two’s The Signal) and Melissa Hetu (Host / Producer of TFO’s BRBR), CBCMusic.ca will be streaming the event live via CBCMusic.ca/Polaris at 7:50 p.m. ET (9:20 NT). Confirmed performers include Alvvays, Braids, Jennifer Castle, Tobias Jesso Jr., Buffy Sainte-Marie and Viet Cong. Available now, at CBCMusic.ca is a limited edition music stream titled Polaris Picks that will feature all of the top 10 contenders from the past 10 years, in addition to more exclusive content.

Highlights from the show will be broadcast on CBC Radio Two’s Canada Live on Monday, September 28 at 7 p.m. (7:30 NT), on CBC Radio One on Friday, October 2 at 2 p.m. (2:30 NT) and again on CBCMusic.ca’s Backstage Pass on Friday, October 9 at 12 a.m. (12:30 NT).

“Given our shared mission to honour and expose the best in Canadian music, this partnership is a natural and logical progression for the Prize,” said Steve Jordan, Polaris Music Prize Founder and Executive Director.

“CBCMusic.ca was created to connect music fans to Canadian artists,” said Mark Steinmetz, Senior Director, Music at CBC/Radio-Canada. “Partnering with the Polaris Prize will strengthen this bond and help to further expose audiences to the amazing talent making music across our country.”
