Feist, k-os Featured In Polaris Podcast EP14
Feist’s breakout album Let It Die and k-os’ genre-spanning Joyful Rebellion albums are the focus of this Polaris Podcast episode thanks to their recent Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize hall of fame designations.
The last episode in our four-part mini-series dedicated to recent Heritage Prize albums, this one features veteran Polaris jurors Karen Bliss and Tabassum Siddiqui talking about k-os and Feist, respectively.
Bliss compared k-os’ skills to another respected singer-rapper.
“He’s a great lyricist,” she said. “I love the fact that he can sing and rap as well and it actually sounds like two different artists. Kind of reminds me of a male Lauryn Hill.”
Siddiqui pointed out that Feist songs contain multitudes.
“Feist covers Bee Gees ‘Inside And Out,'” she said. “It’s actually pretty bittersweet if you really listen to it. But thankfully it’s got such a great groove to it that you’re too busy kind of bopping along to really notice.”
The Polaris Podcast is available from iTunes, Google Play, Soundcloud, Spotify, and on podcast distribution services such as Acast, Overcast, Stitcher, Pocket Casts, Pod Knife and TuneIn.
