Fucked Up, AHI, Peter Peter Lead Release Roundup For January 9, 2026

It’s still pretty cold for new music releases around here right now, so it’s a good thing that it’s getting really hot on the ice. Specifically, the Heated Rivalry ice. It has not gone unnoticed by the Polaris staff that the hottest gay hockey romance show in western world television also happens to have music from the likes of #PolarisPeople Feist, Wolf Parade and Dilly Dally, with soundtracking from PETER PETER. It’s enough that we can probably pitch Shane and Ilya as co-hosts for the #Polaris2026 Concert & Award Ceremony (tickets available now via Massey Hall).
Here are some recent album releases:
* Past winners / 1x Short List / 1x Long List / Polaris Cover Session-ers Fucked Up have released Grass Can Move Stones Part 1: Year of The Goat.
* Pierre Kwenders’ Moonshine crew have released SMS for Location, Vol. 6.5, a bigger updated of Volume 6.
* AHI (2022 Long List) has released Köln (Lost in Time).
As for your playlist refreshment needs, there are new songs from Shad, NYSSA, Daniel Romano, Les Louanges, Rae Spoon, Sean Leon, Wintersleep, Melissa Laveaux and Andy Shauf’s Foxwarren. Oh, and two Peter Peter songs from the upcoming Heated Rivalry soundtrack are now out.
See you at the cottage.
