LISTEN – Dreaming With Caribou

September 29, 2026  | Location To Be Revealed | Ticket Info | 7:00 PM | Limited Capacity

In celebration of the 2026 Polaris Festival, presented by SiriusXM Canada, Polaris presents Dreaming With: Caribou’s Andorra, an immersive hi-fi listening experience that invites audiences to encounter a Polaris-winning album in complete darkness.

The 2026 Polaris Festival is a month-long celebration of Canadian music as art, bringing together concerts, salons, listening sessions, conversations, artist development initiatives, and the Polaris Concert & Award Ceremony at Massey Hall. Through the Festival, Polaris creates space for audiences to listen differently, gather around important Canadian albums, and explore how music shapes culture, identity, memory, and belonging.

Dreaming With is a listening session, light installation, and spatial sound performance that prepares participants for intentional listening. Created by artist, motion designer, and musician Joshua Ingleby, Dreaming With begins before the album starts. Rather than presenting an album as background sound, the event treats the act of listening as a shared experience, something physical, emotional, and almost dreamlike.

For this edition, Dreaming With focuses on Caribou’s Andorra, the 2008 Polaris Music Prize-winning album by Dan Snaith. Known for its warm psychedelia, electronic textures, melodic detail, and dreamlike sense of motion, Andorra becomes the centre of a listening experience designed to slow time down and invite audiences to hear the work with new attention.

Dreaming With asks what becomes possible when an album is given a room, a ritual, and the dark. It is an invitation to listen with the body, to hear the familiar differently, and to experience Canadian music as art.

About Joshua Ingleby

Joshua Ingleby is an artist, motion designer, and musician with a background in cinematography — a craft rooted in shaping feeling through light and space. Inspired by perceptual artists such as James Turrell and Robert Irwin, his work is concerned with redirecting attention until the familiar becomes fully present.

As a musician working primarily with samplers, Ingleby recontextualizes lyrics and sounds, placing familiar materials in unfamiliar environments. His recent work with mirrors explores shared emotional memory, perception, and the presence of what is already there. That same logic runs through Dreaming With: an album, a room, and darkness to hear the sound differently.
