PETER PETER, Ouri Lead Release Roundup For January 16, 2026

It’s still a bit quiet on the new album release front with only two new records:

* Ouri (2022 Short List) has released the Crusts (Original Soundtrack).

* PETER PETER (3x Long List) has released the Heated Rivalry (Original Series Soundtrack) via Sony Canada.

However, a number of champion-level #PolarisPeople are starting to make their first 2026 musical moves, mostly in the form of new songs and videos. Daphni, also known as Dan Snaith, also know as Caribou, also known as the #Polaris2008 champ, has two new songs. Tanya Tagaq, the #Polaris2014 winner, has released the song “Foxtrot.” Meanwhile, two Heritage Prize winners — Peaches with “No Lube So Rude,” and Beverly Glenn Copeland with “Harbour – At Hotel2Tango” — also have new songs out.

They aren’t the only ones, though. Charlotte Day Wilson has teamed up with Saya Gray for “Lean,” The Besnard Lakes have basically created ASMR ‘Ghost Mix’ versions of “Pontiac Spirit,” and there are new songs from Jenn Grant, Dominique Fils-Aimé, Flore Laurentienne, Charlotte Cornfield, and Aquakultre.

Finally, The Beaches are out here making like its 1982 again having released a cover of A Flock Of Seagulls’ “I Ran (So Far Away).”

Get listening.
