Polaris Approved Acts Are All Over Canadian Music Week 2012
Now entering its 30th year, Canadian Music Week has long been a showcase for the best and brightest of Canuck talent.
Taking place March 21-25 in Toronto, hundreds of bands both domestic and international will be plying their trade in dozens of venues across the city during the fest. Unsurprisingly, a number of vetted Polaris Short and Long List artists will be performing shows.
Some of these include Joel Plaskett’s (not really) secret set at the CN Tower, and performances from Krief, Eight And A Half and John K. Samson & The Provincial Band, all offshoots of past nominated acts, The Dears, Broken Social Scene and The Weakerthans, respectively.
Here in Polarisland we understand that sometimes it’s difficult to stay on top of everything that’s going on. That’s why we’ve compiled the handy list below of all the former Polaris nominees who are playing CMW this year. Think of every one of these acts as having achieved a special Polaris jury pool quality control AAA rating when you’re deciding what to go see.
