Polaris Salons Announced For Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Montreal, Halifax
It’s time for the critics to fight.
Steve Jordan, Founder and Executive Director of the Polaris Music Prize, today announced a series of upcoming fall UFC (Ultimate Fighting Critics) Polaris Salons for Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal and Halifax. Additionally, a Salon in London, UK will also be happening.
These Salons will gather some of the best music writers, programmers and broadcasters from across Canada and beyond to answer the question “Who deserves to win the Polaris Music Prize?” All aided by argument fortifying alcohol and the goading of their peers.
London, UK will host its first ever Polaris Salon this Friday, August 30 at Rough Trade. Toronto's Soho House will host a Salon on September 16. Vancouver will be abuzz with their Salon the night of the Polaris Gala on September 23. September 27’s Salon in Montreal will be part of Pop Montreal and October 26’s Salon in Halifax will be a part of the Halifax Pop Explosion.
