Scion/Polaris Split 7" Singles In Stores Sept 14th, Some Include Golden Tickets To Polaris Gala
Collectors of rare and precious vinyl, today is your day.
Steve Jordan, Founder and Executive Director of the Polaris Music Prize, announced details about this year's Scion/Polaris surprise split 7†series. Starting September 14, limited vinyl singles will be given out for free with the purchase of a Short Listed album from the participating retailers (see list below).
A total of 500 singles are being pressed for both Canada and the U.K. The combinations for the singles will be as follows:
Tegan And Sara/A Tribe Called Red (orange vinyl)
Zaki Ibrahim/Whitehorse (white vinyl)
Purity Ring/Colin Stetson (purple vinyl)
Metric/Young Galaxy (blue vinyl)
METZ (yellow vinyl)
On top of that, each Canadian retail location will be hosting a Polaris draw on September 14, with the winner receiving a prize pack of all of this year's 7†vinyl.
Polaris is also excited to once again be turning this into a Willy Wonka-style opportunity to tour the musical chocolate factory that is the Polaris Gala.
There a total of 5 Golden Tickets that will be included in random 7†packages in Ontario! Golden Tickets are good for 2 tickets to the Polaris Music Prize Gala, taking place September 23 at The Carlu in Toronto. To redeem the ticket, email goldenticket AT polarismusicprize.ca with your ticket number and name.
Fine print: This ticket does not include travel to the Gala or lodging. It must be presented at the door with photo ID to match the claimant. Winners must be over 19 years of age.
