The Rdio 2012 Polaris Record Club Is Here
TORONTO, August 20, 2012 – Back for its sophomore year, Rdio and the Polaris Music Prize have announced the return of the Polaris Record Club! Starting August 21 Canadian, UK and German music fans have the chance to enjoy the music of the 2012 Polaris Music Prize Short List free for a day without a Rdio subscription.
In conjunction with Record Club, Polaris is also bringing back haiku reviews. Followers are encouraged to write a review on Twitter in 3 phrases of 5, 7 and 5 words. The writer of the best haiku review, as judged by Polaris staff, will receive a vinyl copy of the featured album. Rdio subscribers can also follow Polaris Music Prize as an Rdio influencer to hear playlists showcasing past and present nominees.
“Polaris represents some of the most prolific, innovative and emotionally charged artists from Canada. In addition to being a proud returning sponsor, we are excited to be adding the United Kingdom and Germany to the Polaris Record Club. We believe in supporting local artists both within Canada and around the world and are pleased to be working with Polaris to do that,” said Rachel Noonan, Rdio Canada.
