Artist Bio

Originally from Rapid City, Manitoba, and now based in Montreal, Amanda Frances Scott writes and records music under the project name wheredidthefloorgo. Built upon her experience studying trombone at Brandon University, her style blends Manitoba country roots with elements of jazz, punk, folk, and bedroom pop. She handles the writing and recording independently, collaborating closely with friends to bring the tracks to life.

Her album Boo, Forever is a self-produced experimental indie folk pop project named after the poem by Richard Brautigan. The record explores grief, the changing seasons, and mental health struggles, while reflecting the anxiety of navigating a difficult economy and a shifting social landscape as a young adult.

Drawing inspiration from the raw vulnerability of Daniel Johnston and Conor Oberst, the DIY spirit of Beat Happening, and the lyrical styles of Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell, Boo, Forever is an independent exploration of finding one’s place over and over again.
