Artist Bio
Mandy Faye (they/them) is equal parts musician, educator, and coffee. Best described as The Wiggles meets Diana Krall, their high-energy stage presence and thoughtful songwriting have won the hearts of audiences across Canada. Mandy has been nominated for multiple YYC Music Awards and a WCMA, with highlight performances at Red Deer Children’s Festival, JazzYYC, Calgary Pride, and the National Music Centre.
My Friends is Mandy Faye’s newest album exploring themes of friendship through various genres within and related to jazz. It features collaborations with some of Alberta’s best jazz players and children’s musicians. They are looking forward to sharing this music at the inaugural Chestermere Children’s Festival and the 2026 International Children’s Festival for the Arts in St. Albert, Alberta.
Mandy’s path to becoming a children’s artist was unexpected. After years teaching music in St. Albert, Edmonton, and Calgary, they found themselves missing the stage. Drawing on their background in jazz studies at MacEwan University, they began blending sophisticated musicwith the playful, interactive energy of children’s programming—creating a unique performance style that bridges generations.
Although Mandy built their career as a children’s entertainer, they briefly stepped away from performing to become a classroom teacher with the Calgary Board of Education. They have since returned to music full-time, continuing to share their educational expertise as a vocal instructor with the Calgary Stampede’s Young Canadians School and an early childhood music instructor at Chinook School of Music.
Reflecting on their work, Mandy says, “Kids’ music has the power to be nostalgic and innovative at the same time. I get to write songs that inspire the next generation, while also creating moments where adults can reconnect with joy and play alongside their kids. What could be better than that?”
