Polaris Poster Artists Unveiled, 2013 Posters Now On Sale

For no other reason than “because it’s awesome,” each year the Polaris powers commission the best and brightest in art and graphic design to create mind-freezing poster art inspired by the albums on the Short List.

This year is no exception and Polaris is proud to announce the following designers will be creating works for their respective Short Listers:

Dave Murray — METZ
Andrew Kolb — Purity Ring
Alexei Vella — Colin Stetson
Shiny Pliers — A Tribe Called Red
Fish Bone Prints — Whitehorse
Benjamin Nelson — Young Galaxy
Ross Proulx — Zaki Ibrahim
Jud Haynes — Tegan And Sara

This year’s posters feature all-seeing laser eyes, Harvey Dent-ish half-faces, yin yang flower deaths and, well, it’s better that you just take a look for yourself.

Each Short List artist will be presented with a framed copy of their custom poster at the Polaris Gala being held September 23 at the Carlu in Toronto.

A small quantity of each poster will available for purchase by the public starting today. Posters can be viewed on the Polaris webstore, Drake General Store, Kid Icarus and at The Carlu the night of the Gala.

The Polaris Gala will be aired live on Aux.tv and SiriusXM channels (The Verge XM ch. 173 and The Iceberg Sirius ch. 161) beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
