Angine de Poitrine Added To Polaris Concert & Award Ceremony At Massey Hall On September 22

CBC presents the Polaris Music Prize have announced that Angine de Poitrine has been added to the 2026 Polaris Concert & Award Ceremony, powered by FACTOR, taking place September 22, 2026 at Toronto’s Massey Hall.

Angine de Poitrine, one of the Short List finalists for both the Polaris Album Prize and the SOCAN Polaris Song Prize, will be performing during the event. Jeremy Dutcher, the only two-time Polaris Album Prize winner, will be a special guest presenter. 

Angine de Poitrine  joins an already stacked evening of programming that includes performances from fellow Album Short List nominees (subject to change): Aquakultre, Begonia, Bibi Club, Beverly Glenn-Copeland & Elizabeth Copeland, Charlotte Cornfield, Les Louanges and Tanya Tagaq in addition to an interpretation of Peaches’ No Lube So Rude album from 2026 Album Long List nominees Slash Need. Each act will be performing seven minute sets.

Tickets for the 2026 Polaris Concert & Award Ceremony are on sale now and available via the Massey Hall box office.

Hosted by CBC Music Afterdark’s Odario Williams, the Polaris Concert & Award Ceremony will be recorded by CBC for a future episode of the CBC Music Presents: Live At Massey Hall series. The Polaris Music Prize awards $30,000 courtesy of the Slaight Family Foundation to the artist who creates the Canadian Album of the Year, judged solely on artistic merit, without consideration for genre or record sales. The 2026 Album Prize winner will be determined through a vote by the full Polaris jury after a series of Grand Jury presentations and debate sessions.

The winning album along with the SOCAN Polaris Song Prize and Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize winners will be revealed during the Polaris Concert & Award Ceremony, powered by FACTOR, taking place at Toronto’s Massey Hall on Tuesday, September 22.

In addition to the Polaris Concert & Award Ceremony the organization will also be presenting numerous Polaris Festival concerts and events throughout the month of September, including free concerts featuring the likes of Witch Prophet, Julianna Riolino, Adria Kain, Savannah Ré and much more. A curated series of low-cost concerts, salons and workshops, the Festival will feature unique one-off events with past Polaris nominees.
