Polaris 2014 Split Seven-Inch Series Pairings Announced

The Polaris Music Prize’s popular split seven-inch vinyl series is back for another year.

Beginning in mid-September, if you purchase any of the 10 albums on the 2014 Polaris Short List through any participating retailer (see list below) you’ll receive a random, free split seven-inch single featuring this year’s Short List artists. In addition to our amazing Canadian retailers, this year we’ll also be distributing the singles through Rough Trade’s New York and London stores.

This year’s pairings are:

YAMANTAKA // SONIC TITAN “Windflower” + Tanya Tagaq “Umingmak” on white vinyl
Shad “Progress (Part 1: American Pie)” + Mac DeMarco “Brother” on red/orange vinyl
Owen Pallett “The Riverbed” + Arcade Fire “Normal Person” on blue vinyl
Basia Bulat “Never Let Me Go” + Timber Timbre “Grand Canyon” on yellow vinyl
Jessy Lanza “Move Closer” (previously physically unreleased) on “trippy pattern” grey vinyl

But wait, there’s more.
