We were approached by TIFF to help them come up with some music for the opening of the TIFF Bell Lightbox building on King Street In Toronto. This is a great way for you to check out a few of this year's Short List artists.
The Sadies are always amazing, and this is a rare chance for you to catch the two Francophone artists Short Listed this year on the same stage, Radio Radio and Karkwa.
Back in '06 we were trying to figure out what to give our Short List nominees to commemorate the occasion. We looked at a bunch of trophy-type awards but really, most of them look kind of silly. It would have to be better than the Oscar, or the Conn Smythe Trophy. How do you top those?

By now most people who follow Polaris know that there is no submission process for Polaris. So how the heck does anyone ever get nominated if artists or their representatives can't actually submit their recording for consideration?
