Revealed! 2016 Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize Commemorative Posters
Commemorative posters honouring the eight albums that received Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize in 2016 have been revealed.
The albums being honoured and the artists who designed their posters are:
Arcade Fire – Funeral by Ivo Matić
Blue Rodeo – Five Days In July by Carl Wiens
Leonard Cohen – Songs Of Leonard Cohen by Lauren Tamaki
Lhasa – La Llorona by Maxime Francout
Kate & Anna McGarrigle – Kate & Anna McGarrigle by Kirsten McCrea
Mary Margaret O’Hara – Miss America by Courtney Wotherspoon
Rush – Moving Pictures by Miles Tsang
Neil Young — After The Gold Rush by Jud Haynes
The posters are commissioned as gifts to be given to the acts who won their Heritage Prize designation last year through either public vote or endorsement from a jury of expert music media and historians.
Now, a limited number of these special prints are available via the Polaris online store. Measuring 18” x 24”, the price for these silk-screened original prints is $40 each + HST.
These posters join those commissioned for four previous Heritage Prize-designated albums: Joni Mitchell’s Blue, Cowboy Junkies’ The Trinity Session, Sloan’s Twice Removed and Peaches’ The Teaches of Peaches.
