Shad, Holy Fuck, A Tribe Called Red Canada Day Concert At Banff Centre
If Banff, Alberta feels a bit like the music lover’s ground zero on Canada Day, there’ll be three really good reasons: Shad, Holy Fuck and A Tribe Called Red.
The trio will anchor an epic July 1 concert presented by the Banff Centre and Polaris Music Prize being held at the Shaw Amphitheatre.
All three acts have been nominated for the Polaris Music Prize.
Shad is on the 2014 Long List for his current album Flying Colours and previously made the Polaris Short List in 2008 and 2010. He also co-hosted the 2013 Polaris Gala with Kathleen Edwards. Electro experimenters Holy Fuck made the Short List in 2008 and then the Long List in 2010. First Nations dance crew A Tribe Called Red made the Short List in 2013 for their album Nation II Nation and also made the Long List in 2012.
Gates open at 4 pm for the show and music starts at 5 pm. Tickets are $30 and are available here. Children under the age of 2 are admitted free without a ticket. The event will be hosted by Polaris Founder and Executive Director Steve Jordan.
